Beşiktaş J.K. A2 (also known Beşiktaş A2 or Beşiktaş Reserves) is the top section youth system of Turkish multi-sports club Beşiktaş in the main branch of football. They are formerly known as Beşiktaş J.K. Amateurs (1950s-1996) and Beşiktaş J.K. PAF (1996–2010). A2 Squad compete in A2 Ligi in which include 18 youth teams of Süper Lig outfits. The basic intent of the system is to train youngsters and promote them for the senior team. Beşiktaş PAF is formed of teenager players who are generally between 17 and 19 years old. A2 team players who get on age of 20 are accepted to be promoted as a senior player and no longer they would be adequate to contiune to play for youth squad. With most recent status of the A2 Ligi, 3 players over 20-year-old can also play for A2 level, along with 2 foreigners under same conditions. Beşiktaş also have youth teams in numerous age groups as below: * A Genç Takım (Youth team A): Consist players at the age of 17 to 18, * B Genç Takım (Youth team B): Between the age of 15 and 16, * Yıldız Takım (Team starlets): Between the age of 13 and 14, * Minik Takım (Junior Team): Between the age of 12 and 13, * Mini Minik Takım (Mini-Junior Team): Between the age of 11 and 12. ==History== Team had started their operations as the amateur squad in 1950s. Beşiktaş, as one of the participants of Balkans Cup in 1963–64 version, requested the officials to play 2 away games with a day deficit in between, whereas it had been realized that it was not possible for the team to play 2 matches in 2 days. Therefore A2 team had been tasked for the encounter in Tirane to represent the team on senior level against Albanian side KS Dinamo Tirana.〔 The match ended 2-0 in favour of home side. Achieved 2nd spot in local championshjip in Istanbul under the management of Serpil Hamdi Tüzün, Beşiktaş Amateurs participated in Turkey Amateur Football Championship in 1985 and grasped the trophy. The success led team to compete in Turkish Cup in 1985–86 version in which they have been eliminated by the quarter finalists PTT (now known as Türk Telekom Gençlik Spor Kulübü) in 1st Round by the score 1-0. In 1988, they repeated the success and joined Turkish Cup once again, beaten Bayrampaşaspor by 3-0 in 1st Round and Zeytinburnuspor by penalties. Dramatically, Beşiktaş A2 drawn Beşiktaş. The two-legged matches ended 4-0 and 5-1 respectively, in favour of the seniors. Beşiktaş Amateurs competed in Istanbul Amateur League in 1st and 2nd tier levels, despite they achieved couple of championships, they could not achieve a major success in domestic scene. The team was renamed Beşiktaş J.K. PAF Takımı (simply Beşiktaş PAF) in 1996 and joined PAF Ligi. Two times PAF Ligi crowned Beşiktaş PAF, was renamed Beşiktaş J.K. A2 (simply Beşiktaş A2) in 2010-11 season start.
